During a recent trip to the SPCA of Connecticut, Inc, the Darien Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) spent the day fixing up the shelter where many friendly animals are just waiting to find a home. The SPCA of Connecticut is a “No Kill Humane Organization” in Monroe that reaches out to help homeless animals. According to its website, one of the many goals of SPCA is to “help change the way Connecticut treats homeless animals.” There were a handful of animals, mostly dogs, that stood out to the members of DAWG and they wanted to show off some of the adorable animals they met.

Two very special dogs named Jonas and Baron are eagerly waiting for someone to adopt them. Check out the adorable picture. (right) The SPCA is looking for one family to adopt these two dogs together because of their unique tale of canine friendship. Jonas and Baron, both Treewalking Coonhounds, were rescued together in Atlanta, Georgia. Both dogs have black and brown coloring with white on their stomachs. Jonas and Baron have kept each other company through their long journey to Connecticut, and have grown to become close friends. Jonas and Baron are both 16-month-old males.

Both dogs are very sweet and friendly, just looking for some attention. Treewalking Coonhounds are primarily used for hunting, however they make excellent family pets because of their friendly nature and they are easy to train.

Contact the SPCA of Connecticut if you are interesting in providing a home for Baron and Jonas. For further information call 203-445-9978 or email
